The Choir School of Delaware (CSD) is proud to present Step Up Summer—a six-week intensive (June 22 – August 1) that challenges Delaware students (ages 10–18) to step out of the comfortable and into their potential.


This isn't just a camp; it’s a launchpad. In 2026, we are increasing our investment in our students’ public profiles, using high-impact marketing and professional media partnerships to ensure their voices are heard across the state and beyond.

Morning: The STEAM Block


Step up your skills. Our morning curriculum focuses on the "Business of Being an Artist" and academic excellence.

  • AI Music & Entrepreneurship: Led by Kevin McCove, students master AI music generation and prompt engineering, learning how to leverage emerging tech to build their own creative brands.
  • Financial Literacy with WSFS Bank: Real-world financial coaching—from credit management to navigating student loans—giving students the agency to manage their future earnings.
  • The “Step Up” Chronicles (ELA): Under the guidance of Mahcaiyah Wearing-Gooden, students write, engineer, and host a professional-grade podcast, sharpening their English Language Arts skills through modern storytelling.

Afternoon: The CREATE Block


Step up to the mic. The afternoon is dedicated to elite performance and creative expression.

  • The Step Up Concert: In a brand-new experience for 2026, CSD students will perform in a live performance on July 25th at the Urban Artist Exchange featuring Commercial and Musical Theatre repertoire. Performing as a soloist or ensemble member with a live, professional orchestra is a rare opportunity that builds immense self-confidence and artistic discipline.
  • Pro Voice Lessons: Students will have one on one lessons twice a week with local music professionals - investing in the individual.
  • Tiny Desk Concerts: Weekly studio style performances at a local business to engage our community locally and online.
